Rex Norman Williams, age 81, died on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Unity Point St. Luke’s Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa. He was born to John Robert and Anna Virginia (Hamilton) Williams of Trenton, Missouri on February 26, 1936, and was the second of four children.
Rex married Alice Ann Sharp in 1955 and farmed land west of Trenton prior to moving to Columbia, Missouri where he got his Master’s degree in Agriculture at the University of Missouri. He spent several years teaching vo-ag classes in Ottumwa, Keota, and Fairfield, Iowa, and also taught welding classes in Marshalltown, Iowa. He lived in Ida Grove, Iowa and worked for Farmers National for several years before moving to Paulina, Iowa where he built his own business from the ground up selling Nature’s fertilizer.
After his marriage to Arlene TePoel in 2006, they moved to Sioux City, Iowa where he donated a lot of his time volunteering and helping those less fortunate than himself. He frequently donated food to the food pantry, and spent many hours utilizing his carpenter skills at his church, the Senior Citizens Center, as well as the homes of family and friends. Rex had a strong passion for dancing and spent many hours on the dance floor.
Rex was a man of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ’s love and the beauty and peace that would await him after his passing.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 5, 2018 at 10:30 am at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton, MO with visitation preceding the service at 9:30 am.  Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton.  Memorial donations are suggested to the Edinburg Baptist Church Youth Department.
Survivors include his wife Arlene Williams of 12 years; sister Deanna and her husband Jerry Trump; his two children Rocka Rasmussen and her friend David L Bock of Atlantic, IA; Rick Williams and his friend Suzanne Nevada of Wasilla, AK; his step children Mark and Cynthia TePoel of Temple, TX, Diane and Rod Rockman of Payson, AZ, and Angela and Jim Osborn of Sioux City, IA, nine grandchildren fourteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert L Williams, and his infant brother Lional Williams.

So sorry to hear of Rex's passing. I remember him so well at the Rock Barn square dances.
He would take pity on a chubby young girl and ask me to dance.
Tom and I graduated from THS with Bobby.
