Josephine Shockey, a 98 year old Trenton, MO resident, passed away at 8:14 a.m., Sunday, April 07, 2019 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton. A visitation is scheduled from 1:00 until service time Wednesday. Open visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday. Memorial donations are suggested to the Green Hills Animal Shelter and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
Josephine Shockey was born August 21, 1920 near Modena, MO the daughter of John Edward and Gracie Mable (Stanley) Gibler. On January 29, 1941, she was united in marriage to Wilbur Eugene Shockey in Trenton. He preceded her in death on November 5, 2001. She was a member of the Tenth Street Baptist Church.
Surviving relatives include her daughters Janice Shockey of Platte City, MO, and Judy Chaffee and husband Mel of Trenton, and a brother Eddie Ray Gibler of Green City, MO, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
Those preceding her in death include her parents, husband, son Ray Eugene Shockey,brothers Marion, Edward Junior, Raymond Sturg, Billy Dale, Arnold Dean Gibler, and sisters Marjorie Hamby, Lillian Gibler, Gracie Tharp, Mildred Hobbs, Edna Mae Eaton, and Freda Little
