James H. Evans

May 15, 1924 ~ May 16, 2019 (age 95)

James “Jimmie” H. Evans, a 95 year Trenton resident, passed away at 6:10 p.m., Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton.  Cremation will follow services with inurnment at a future date in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.  Open visitation will be from noon until 6:00 Monday and Tuesday morning.  Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church and may be left with the funeral home.

James Evans was born May 15, 1924 in Mill Grove, MO to Theodore Roosevelt and Georgia Hazel (Squires) Evans.  He attended Mercer County country schools and graduated from Princeton High School.  From December 19, 1944 until August 23, 1946He served in WWII in the United States Army.  On April 3, 1965 he was united in marriage with Betty Joan Gannon in Chillicothe, MO.  Jimmie worked for Modine Manufacturing Co. for many years, was an over the road truck driver, and did automotive deliveries for auto agencies.  Jimmie was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and the Princeton V.F.W.

Surviving relatives include his daughters Lynda Batson and husband David of Raytown, MO and Cinda Walsh and husband James of North Kansas City, MO, grandchildren; Jonas and Nathan Batson of Raytown, MO, Sara Elliott and husband Chase of Chicago, IL, and Hanna Walsh of Chicago, IL, and a great grandchild Abigale.

Those preceding him in death include his parents, wives Phyllis Derry and Betty Evans, and a sister Norma Jean Evans.
