Mrs. Clarice Bosley 91, a resident of Ottumwa, Iowa and formally of Spickard died Sunday, May 19, 2019 at 3:12 P.M. at Mercy One, Des Moines, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 24, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Resthaven Mortuary, Trenton. Burial will be in Resthaven Mortuary north of Trenton.
Family visitation will be held Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the mortuary.
Memorials to: Spickard Fire Department and may be left or mailed to the mortuary.
Mrs. Bosley was born Aug. 25, 1927 in Ottumwa the daughter of Lamont and Laila Watts Garett. She moved to Spickard with her husband and family in 1957 on farm west of Spickard and raised registered Black Angus cows. Then in 1967 she moved into Spickard where she owned and operated Bosley’s Cafe and pool hall until 1977, also operated the deer check in station in Spickard for over twenty years, and she was also a dispatcher for the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office retiring after 20 years. She was well known for her peanut butter fudge and homemade pies.
On June 24, 1956 she was married to Kenneth H. Bosley at Ottumwa. He preceded her in death on March 17, 2010.
Her survivors include children Mike Patrick and wife Carol, Salem, Oregon, Patricia Boyd and husband Danny, Ottumwa, Jeanie Morrow and husband Howard, Moulton, Iowa, and William Bosley and wife Sandra, Spickard. Two step-son Wendell Bosley, Tucson, Arizona and Paul Bosley, Ottumwa. Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren, forty-three great grandchildren, and eighteen great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter Dixie Travis, one step-son Gene Bosley, and one granddaughter Tina Heckelbeck.
